AVIAN INFLUENZA (bird flu)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues to update its Web site specifically devoted to Avian Influenza (bird flu). The Web site now includes a fact sheet, a notice to travelers, and a link so that clinicians can sign up for e-mail updates about Avian Influenza.

To access the Web site, visit www.cdc.gov/flu/avian/index.htm or call the Avian Influenza Hotline

at (888) 232-6348.

The USDA has implemented a system to answer calls from the public regarding dead or sick wild birds. The toll-free number is 866-4 USDAWS. This has been published on the USDA Web site, www.usda.gov/birdflu.
